Week 9

The song I chose to write about this week is, "Thank God I'm a Country Boy by John Denver." I enjoy listening to the songs by John Denver. I know a lot of people in his day didn't like the way he was taking country music but I like it. I find it interesting that part of the reason why he wrote this song was to show that he was a country singer and that he was proud of it. In the song, he talks about the simple way of life a country boy has, and talks about how much he enjoys it. There are also some funny lyrics to the song such as "And life ain't nothing but a funny, funny riddle, thank God I'm a country boy." He sings a little softer than a lot of the country singers in that day. H also really good with the guitar. I do see that the way he sings country music is different but still not sure why people didn't like the way he was taking it. The song makes me feel happy and helps me see the joys of being a country boy. I enjoyed listing to the song

week 8

The song I choose this week was Don't think twice by Bob Dylan. I think it is really cool how he can play the guitar, play the harmonica and sing. He doesn't have the best voice but has good lyrics. Many people thought this was a love song but Dylan said it was a statement that you cools say to make yourself feel better. I guess it could be a good song to make your self feel good who hardship may hit your life. Dylan wrote this after his girlfriend went off to Italy study at the University of Perugia and left him in New York. This song doesn't have much of a change to the rhythm or beat. It is just kinda the same tune the whole time but it does song pretty good. I feel like the instruments stuck with being pretty traditional in this song This song makes me feel relaxed and a little reflective. I enjoyed listening to this song and hear the style of Bob Dylan. Its pretty cool how much of an influence he had on music.

week 7

The song I chose to write about this week Yesterday by the Beatles. I makes me feel relaxed as I listen to it. I like the slow pace of the song. It is very melancholy and very reflective. I makes you reflect back on your life a little. I find it funny how the words to yesterdsy used to be scrabbled eggs. I really like how the guitar sounds in this song. It is also very interesting that he came up with this song in his sleep and thought he stole it from some other singer. This is avery well put togeather song and very enjoyable to listen to. You can tell the Beatels put a lot of time into this. They worked very well with each other through out the song. I feel like this a little different from the other songs of that day. It really does make you realize how fast time flys by.

Week 6

The song I choose to talk about this week is "Hound Dog."It's interesting to me how he was able to make this song a lot more popular than Big Mama Thorton I like the instruments. I feel like if I was her I might be a little upset, but back then a lot of people were doing back then. I like the instruments used within the is song. The clapping is something that is different from most songs. But it does give it a little bit of that black culture to the song, which probably cem from Big Mama Thorton. I also like the electric guitar and the drums adds some great sound. I find the lyrics interesting and how its sung by Elvis(a guy) you can tell it was probably meant for a women to sing. I like the way Elvis sings it. It adds a lot of character to the song. The song is definitely upbeat and it does seem like a great song to dance to. The guitar solo was really good with the backup singers singing "whooo." IT was an all-around good song and I can see why it was a big hi
